7/24 – 6 to 8 pm, “Run with It: The Sacred Blue,” an exciting multimedia show/reception to honor the Taos 2010 summer theme, Return to Sacred Places, RANE Gallery - An Ekphrasis Gallery, Ledoux St. Free. Wine, cheese, appetizers served. Co-curators Veronica Golos, Andrea Watson and Faith Welsh have come together to design and bring the show to center stage with an extraordinary amount of Taos talent: six poets, three musicians, and fourteen artists working in a variety of media—from fiber art to photography, from collage to creative enamel work. With Musicians Don Conoscenti, David Hinske and Tara Sommerville; Poets Jeannie Bernard, Veronica Golos, Dora McQuiad, Judith Thompson, Leslie Ullman and Andrea Watson; Visual Art by Seamus Berkley, Jeanie Bernard, Patta Butcher, Linda Michel-Cassidy, Nancy Delpero, Lenny Foster, Toni George, Carolyn Hinske, Ouray Meyers, Merce Mitchell, Ona Owens, Bill Rane, Mandy Stapleford and Faith Welsh.

7/29 – 4 to 6 pm, Artshare for the Land, artist closing reception,“Sacred Places: Sacred Land”, Historic Taos Inn, benefiting the Taos Land Trust. ArtShare for the Land provides opportunities for artists to give back by supporting Taos Land Trust's efforts to protect the land that is their muse. And it provides opportunities for its members, art patrons and the community to purchase beautiful artwork, while supporting both the artists and permanent land conservation. Local artists were invited to submit a piece of work that had some connection to the Town of Taos marketing theme of “Return to Sacred Places”. Images were juried and the result is an exciting, colorful and eclectic mix of artworks – something for everyone’s taste. The exhibition is also on the Taos Land Trust website: www.taoslandtrust.org. 7/29 - The Harwood Summer Lecture program continues with a lecture and hands-on workshop with Sandra Wasko Flood on Labyrinths, $6 for Alliance Members, $8 non-members. Contact Harwood for details. In August -- Harwood Gallery Talks, a more informal day-time program kick off with Waylon Brown discussing the Taos Pueblo Photographs on Saturday August 31 at 2pm; Ray Trotter on Navajo Sandpaintings in Wool, Saturday August 7 at 2pm, and Gus Foster on the Taos Pueblo Photographs on Saturday August 14 at 2pm. 7/30 - 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Luau Teen Dance - The entry fee is $1.00. D.J. Evid3nt will be playing all hit music, Town of Taos Youth & Family Center, 407 Paseo del Canon East. 7/30 – 6 to 10 pm, Merchandise Bingo at the Taos Pueblo Community Center. Win great prize, concessions available for purchase. Proceeds to benefit the Blue Lake Commemorative Celebration Committee (remember – the commemoration of the return of Blue Lake to Taos Pueblo 40 years ago is this Septeber 17 and 18). 7/31 – 2 to 5 pm, Habitat for Humanity Taos is holding its 5th Annual “A Taos Experience” Fundraiser at the Taos Center for the Arts’ Stables Gallery. This event enables attendees to meet with Taos artists as they create and display their works as well as munch on gourmet hors d'oeuvres and other goodies from local restaurants. This fundraising event will help Habitat for Humanity, 100% locally funded, to continue work on the Valencia home in Questa – and eventually move in a single mom with 5 daughters, who is putting two of the girls, and soon a third, through college.
