7/9 Poets Arthur Sze and his wife Carol Moldaw from Santa Fe (Arthur and Carol are well known in the poet circles in NM and beyond and have been mentors to fine poets in the area and at IAIA in Santa Fe.
7/15 (Thursday) Jonis Agee, novelist from Nebraska; John Dufresone, novelist from Florida - both are on the faculty of the Taos Summer Writers Cfc this year. Both have published extensively!
7/30 Melanie Sumner, novelist - new book just published, "Ghost of Milagro Creek" this fictionalized tale of two star crossed lovers takes place in Taos; Davida Singer, poet from NYC -she teaches at Columbia, has two volumes of poetry published.
8/6 Natalie Goldberg and Eddie Lewis - fiction
8/13 Summer Wood, novelist and James Nave – poetry and short stories
8/20 Tom Ireland – short stories; Tania Casselle – short stories and travel writing; and a special musical performance by Brooke Zanatell and Philip Handmaker of Zanagroove.

The New Mexico State Library and Centennial planners are accepting nominations for four honorary positions associated with the commemoration of New Mexico’s hundred years of statehood – Poet, Storyteller, Author and Children’s Author.
Nominations may be submitted by individual New Mexico residents or representatives of organizations in New Mexico and may include self-nominations. The deadline for submissions is June 23, 2010. The individuals selected will be announced at a ceremony in the fall of 2010. The Sage Institute presents Father Murray Bodo and Dora McQuaid for an evening of poetry that explores the healing powers of mystery and grace. Reading from their recent collections, Father Bodo will read from Wounded Angels (Blissfool Books) and Dora from her forthcoming SEVEN: Poems of The Interim, along with selected other writings, to begin their SEVEN WOUNDED ANGELS international tour. In association with Blissfool Books.

Father Bodo is a native of New Mexico, a Franciscan Priest and a member of the Franciscan Academy. The author of 27 books, including the bestselling Francis: The Journey and The Dream, his poems and essays have been widely published internationally. He is a staff member and pilgrim guide for Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs in Assisi, Italy. Dora E. McQuaid is an award-winning poet, activist, speaker and teacher whose unique blend of art, emotion and service has earned her multiple awards, publications and opportunities to perform internationally. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the SAGE Institute for Environment, Creativity and Consciousness in Taos, NM.

In response to the call from many spiritual elders, let's gather together to create a sacred circle where we will write prayers to heal all life on earth.
This group will be a combination writing workshop and ceremony. Finding your own words for the deepest prayers of your heart is healing, empowering and rejuvenating.
Wednesday evenings, in Taos, 7-9 PM, July 7, 14, 21, 28. Come to one or all.
