Featured March Information:

3/18, 5-7 p.m. – Artspace, www.artspace.org, is an experienced, for-profit organization interested in taking the next step toward building a live/work affordable housing project in Taos for Taos artists.  The Town of Taos is hosting an event to help with that next step – completion of an “interest survey” by members of Taos’ creative community who might be interested/able in taking advantage of such an offering.  The free event is scheduled for Cafe Loka, 112-E Camino de la Placita (at Ledoux St.).  The exclusively online surveys will be available starting that night.  For info., Matthew Foster, Long Range Planner, Town of Taos, 751-2037, mfoster@taosgov.com.

3/19 and 3/20, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Town of Taos Plastics Recycling at Recycling Center, Bertha St.  As the Town works toward a permanent plastics recycling solution, periodic ‘plastics days’ are being scheduled.  Next dates for drop off after March 19/20 are June 18/19 and Sept. 17/18.  Remember: Clean, dry plastics, #1 and #2.  Call for info. 758-9679 or 751-2047.

3/25, 1 p.m., through the afternoon of 3/27 – The new Taos Arts & Culture District, designated by the State of New Mexico’s Main Street Program, has been awarded a grant from "Your Town" National Endowment for the Arts, www.yourtowndesign.org, to host a design and planning charrette (a solution-focused collaborative design session) focused on improving the vitality of downtown Taos.  Participants are sought from the Taos community for the full 2.5 day commitment.  Lunches and dinners will be provided. The event is free and is open to any and all residents of Taos County.  A minimum of 30 people from the community are required by “Your Town” — first come, first served sign-up. Participants will be awarded a Certificate of Design from UNM.  If interested, contact Cynthia Spray, 758-8826, cynthias@newmex.com.
