Town of Taos News Brief 2/2/10
1) 2/4 Town of Taos Special Council Meeting, 1:30 p.m., agenda attached.
2) Town of Taos Gross Receipts for November, 2009 (received in January, 2010) are up 12.53% compared to November, 2008. Total year-over-year figures put Town of Taos GRT at a negative 4.53%. Town of Taos Lodgers Tax revenues are down 3.47% year-over-year. Certainly down is not great, but we’re holding our own far better than other comparable communities with double-digit decreases (of course not that we really think any other place is comparable to Taos).
3) Art in Town Hall: The new Art in Town Hall exhibit has rotated for its second quarter installation. Come and see the new works by Taos artists on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Selection/installation of the works is completed by a committee including representatives from Taos Artists Org. (TAO), Taos Center for the Arts (TCA), Taos Gallery Assoc. (TGA), and the Taos Institute TIGA. Email Assist. Town Manager Abigail Adame if you’re interested in more information, or submitting for committee consideration, aadame@taosgov.com.
