Taos Real Estate

There have been some questions in the last few weeks as to which properties within the Town of Taos have been deemed to be “nuisance properties”.  This designation indicates long-term health and safety issues that the Town is working to rectify with each property owner. Some efforts have been more successful than others.  Please see the list below that summarizes the current status of each.  The Town would like everyone to know that all such properties are being treated equitably with regard to legal action and attention.  Here is an updated list of the initial 2009 “nuisance properties” (some of these have already taken definitive action to work with the Town; some are still negotiating; and others have pending legal action):

1.                  Hacienda Inn – owner has agreement with Town of Taos

2.                  Lujan Funeral Home – owner is currently negotiating an agreement

3.                  Dane Bigbee Property – pending legal action

4.                  El Pueblo Café -- pending legal action

5.                  Residence on Zuni Street – pending legal action

6.                  Old Toby’s Restaurant – pending legal action

7.                  Residence on Liebert Street – owner complied and structure was demolished

8.                  C. B. Trujillo Property – owner complied and structure was demolished

9.                  Stop ‘N Go Gas Station – owner complied and structure was demolished
