EXPANSION UPDATE
The 10,000 square-foot expansion of the University of New Mexico's Harwood Museum of Art continues on pace for a grand opening in late 2010. To date, the demolition phase has been completed and more than 700 yards of soil have been excavated and removed. The foundation has been poured and the walls are now going up for the structure that will house shipping and receiving on the lowest rear level, art collections and storage on the mid-level, and a gallery and auditorium on the Ledoux Street level. The museum remains open while construction continues.
