Vacation Homes – Advice from the Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal online writes about how to squeeze more money out of vacation homes. The Taos real estate market is certainly dependent on vacation home sales, and there are possibly a good many owners out there who might find something of interest in this article.

From charitable tax deductions to rental, the article discusses ways in which to get a little relief in the cost of maintaining a vacation home when it's really a very poor time to sell. Though things perked up a bit, and the Dow is over 10,000 today, we may see a little improvement in the Taos market. But, these things don't impress the appraisers, and our days on market remain high, as well as our inventory.
