Meet the Artist: Mary Shaffer

Meet the Artist lecture featuring internationally known glass artist Mary Shaffer on Saturday, July 18 at 2pm in the Encore Gallery. Mary is the Key Note Speaker to kick off this year's 2009 Taos Art Glass Invitational. Shaffer's Meet the Artist topic, "Glass: the Early Years". Shaffer is a resident of Taos and has been working in glass since the 1970's. She is seen as a major influence in the studio glass movement as an innovator, artist and teacher. Her work has been featured in museums around the world, including permanent museum collections such as the Metropolitan Museum and Museum of Modern Art in Kyoto.
Join the TCA on Saturday, July 18 at 2:00 pm for this rare opportunity to hear Mary Shaffer speak of her process.
