Taos Living Treasures Nominations
The Taos Living Treasures program, created to recognize the contributions of our senior citizens, honors selected honorees nominated by community members.
Living Treasures follows a simple selection process. Area residents write letters of nomination for a person deemed worthy of special honors for a lifetime of volunteer service. A panel of judges selects five honorees from Taos County and Penasco region.
The program, co-sponsored by the Taos Center for the Arts and the Town of Taos, features a special tribute, free to the public. This year's festivities at Bataan Hall on Sunday, August 16 at 1pm, pays special homage to the honorees. The agenda includes speeches, entertainment and presentation of an award by the Mayor. The Friendship Dance and a reception round out the schedule.
The Taos Center for the Arts will accept letters of nomination, emphasizing community and volunteer service, until Friday, July 17, 2009.
