Open Hearth Arts presents the Verse Converse Poetry Festival. Taos, NM, June 5, 6 & 7. Three days of workshops, lectures, competitions, readings and performances. Don't miss the Taos Invitational Poetry Championship at Shadow's Lounge and Grill, Friday night from 6 - 9pm, with top slammers from Denver, Albuquerque and Taos.  And Saturday, Poetry in Performance at the Anglada's Building 7-10pm,featuring two-time World Heavyweight Champion poet  Jimmy Santiago Baca; Bob Holman of the New York City Bowery Poetry Club and The Nuyorican Poet's Café; hip-hop duo Lyrically Inklined; jazz & poetry ensemble Luminous Animal; Christa Sperry and more. Verse~Converse is looking for volunteers to help both at the Festival and before in exchange for free admission to some or all events (depending on hours of volunteering). If you are interested, please get in touch with our Volunteer Coordinator, Terry Sedal: terry@rosslynn.com.
Tasks include: Selling Tickets, Food, Food Coordinator, Videotaping events, set up, take down, putting together programs, etc.
