WHAT/WHO:
Rally Participants Volunteer at the Rio Grande Community Farm
In an effort to give back to The Rally's host community, more than 70 RVers will donate their time to the Rio Grande Community Farm in Albuquerque on April 15. Rally volunteers will plant, weed, or perform similar tasks at the farm as part of The Rally's sponsorship day
For more than 11 years, the not-for-profit Rio Grande Community Farm has partnered with the City of Albuquerque to offer community-based agricultural programs at Los Poblanos Fields, the 138 acres of historic farmland located in Albuquerque's North Valley. The farm offers community members of all ages the chance to tour acres of farmland and grow and harvest food that is distributed to community food banks and shelters.
Additional Charity Events:
The Rally's official charity is the Association of Hole in the Wall Camps (http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org/), and many activities are planned to raise funds for the charity throughout the weekend, including a morning walk and participation in arts and crafts activities.
On April 18 and 19, The Rally will also host dog and cat adoptions courtesy of Albuquerque Mayor, Martin Chavez.
