Newest NM Export – The Silvery Minnow

Silvery Minnow
The Rio Grande near Big Bend National Park will be the new home for thousands of silvery minnows being transported from New Mexico. This endangered fish, actually almost a half million of them, will hopefully thrive in their new home.
Once the minnows get to Big Bend, they will be placed in holding pens in the river so they can acclimate. There are two release sites within the park's boundaries as well as one upstream and one downstream.
