Two-time GRAMMY Award Winner Robert Mirabal
Presents Pueblo Christmas
at El Monte Sagrado

December 14, 4 pm at El Monte Sagrado in Taos

On Christmas Eve at Taos Pueblo, the smoke of bonfires turns the dusky sky black as embers shoot up to mix with starlight. Gunfire echoes in the frigid air and when the church doors open we hear the traditional hymns sung in Spanish and in English, accompanied by a violin and native drum.
On this night, nowhere in America do Native American, Hispanic, and Anglo cultures so freely mingle to share the spiritually of the season, creating a palpable sense of unity and hope.
To mark this yearly celebration, Taos Pueblo artist and musician Robert Mirabal presents Pueblo Christmas, a concert of classic Christmas Carols that he has arranged for an array of Native American flutes, tribal percussion, and piano. These renditions of holiday favorites have been stripped down to their most hauntingly beautiful.
Join Robert on Sunday, December 14th at 4 pm, for an intimate Pueblo Christmas experience at El Monte Sagrado resort in Taos. Accompanied by keyboardist Paul Fowler, Mirabal will play favorite Christmas carols and tell stories of growing up in Taos. Admission to the show allows patrons a 20% discount for dinning at De La Tierra restaurant.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door and available at Mirabal Native Gifts in Yucca Plaza (next to Copy Queen), El Monte Sagrado gift shop or charge-by-phone at 575-758-8900.
