Town of Taos Selects New Mayor 12/1/08
The Town of Taos Council thanked Mayor Bobby F. Duran for his 29 years of public service for Taos. The Mayor has submitted his resignation effective December 31, 2008.
The Council then unanimously endorsed Council Member Darren Cordova as Mayor-elect to take office when Mayor Duran retires, Darren@kxmt.com.
After January 1st, Cordova will appoint someone to complete his Council term. Nine letters-of-intent for this appointment have already been received by the Town. Interested Town of Taos applicants (applicants must live within the Town limits) should apply to the Town Clerk’s office, rlucero@taosgov.com.
Both the Mayor and Cordova Council positions will be part of Town elections in March, 2010.
