Ranchos Mail – Wait in Line & Pay a Fine
I'm sure it is an imposition for the Ranchos de Taos post office emplyees to have to deal with another workplace because of a recent fire. We all wish it hadn't happened. One wonders, however, why all of the post office patrons are subjected to very long lines at the Annex, partly because they seem unwilling to expand their operating hours to deal with this temporary emergency situation. I don't want them to be put out, but standing in line for 45 minutes to pick up my mail is just plain not funny.
Not funny is one thing, but downright unfriendly is another. Today, while the long line inched along to pick up mail, the Taos police were placing parking tickets on the cars parked on the sides of the road. You see, the annex wasn't set up for hundreds of people every day stopping to get mail. These people don't like doing it either. Without adequate parking, the people lined their cars up along the side of the road, which appears to be a problem for the Taos police.
The tunnel vision of bureaucrats never ceases to amaze. Can't we all get along?
