Town of Taos Planning & Zoning Department Update 10/14/08
The department is currently reviewing a proposal from the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram Temple located at 416 Geronimo Lane to annex a 13.67 acre parcel into the Town of Taos limits. The review is to determine whether or not there is sufficient infrastructure and road capacity to support the requested annexation and zone change to R-4 Residential from its current designation of County Rural Agriculture.
Taos County Chamber of Commerce
Planning is currently working with the Taos County Chamber of Commerce to address business community concerns about some portions of the town’s sign code ordinance.
Taos County Administrative and Judicial Complex
The Planning Department is currently working with Taos County personnel and the New Mexico Department of Transportation to address traffic safety concerns at the intersection of Albright and NM 68 [Paseo Del Pueblo Sur] as part of the County’s proposed new Administrative and Judicial Complex.
Town of Taos Smart Growth Ordinance
A public hearing will be held on the proposed Taos Smart Code Ordinance tomorrow, 5:30 p.m., October 15th, 2008 at the Youth and Family Center. There will not be any final decisions made on the proposed zone change for the town’s affordable housing subdivision, Chamisa Verde. This meeting is primarily to get more feedback from adjacent property owners who will be affected by the proposed zone change.
