Taos Real Estate – Ski Valley Homes and Prospects
Tomorrow is the Realtor Tour of ski valley properties. I noticed that there were a lot of them on the list, so I did a search to get some data. Coincidentally, Realtor.org came out with a short article titled "Sales Sluggish on Ski Homes, But Prices Stay High." They only quoted a real estate broker in Park City, Utah, so I wanted to see how our Taos Ski Valley real estate listings were faring.
There are currently 49 homes or condos for sale in the Taos Ski Valley. Here are the statistics:
- Highest priced listing at $1,490,000, lowest at $129,000
- Average list price is $482,187
- Median list price is $449,500
- Average days on market is 592
- Median days on market is 554
So, it looks like quite a few ski home owners will be enjoying the slopes again this year because they haven't sold that property. There is nothing wrong with that, as they obviously are not pressed to sell, so prices remain high, as the Realtor.org article states. However, it would seem that there are some brokers who are advertising properties for two years or so with little hope of moving them. The advertising media love it I'm sure.
