Taos Real Estate

1) Town of Taos Town Hall:  Groundwork complete.  Steel Up.  Outer ‘skin’ and ‘top on the building’ -- all winter long construction can continue inside. The Taos community is invited to come and join Town elected officials and staff in celebrating Town Hall’s ‘topping off’ party – a milestone in construction of the new Town Hall, 11:30 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008, 400 Camino de la Placita, Taos.

2) Land Use Development Code Revision Committee (LUDC), focus on Taos SmartCode specifics/progress, 10 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008, Taos Volunteer Fire Department’s main Fire Station, Camino de la Placita.

3) Highlights from the Special Town Council Meeting this morning, September 30^th:

• First item, on making the TCA eligible for assistance under the NM Local Ec Dev Act, postponed until regular meeting on October 21 due to State of NM requirements/procedures (need to finish formalities before take this action).
• Town of Taos lobbying contract with Gabe Cisneros dba Universal Professional Services, Inc., approved in the amount of $35,000.
• Added item:  Council formally requested that Manager move quickly and decisively in the immediate scheduling of meeting(s) with representatives of the NM Attorney General’s Office to propose specific actions to resolve affordable housing issues to allow further work in Chamisa Verde, starting with the resolution of specific homeowners’ issues in that area.
