Governor Bill Richardson Announces The Keeper to be Filmed in New Mexico
SANTA FE—Governor Bill Richardson today announced that the action feature film, The Keeper, starring Steven Seagal, will shoot in New Mexico.
The production will be shot in and around Santa Fe from September 29 through October 24 and is expected to hire approximately 75 local crew members and over 200 actors, including principal and background talent.
The Keeper tells the story of a bodyguard, played by Seagal, who must rescue a kidnapped woman he was hired to protect. The film will be produced by Seagal and Phillip Goldfine (Lost Boys: The Tribe, Into the Sun, Belly of the Beast), and directed by Keoni Waxman (Anna Nicole, Shooting Gallery, The Highwayman).
Since Governor Richardson took office, 107 major film and television projects have shot in the state, resulting in more than $1.8 billion dollars in economic impact.
