News Alert #64, Town of Taos, August 7, 2008

1) Public Utilities, Town of Taos, reports water outage due to a break on Montoya St. Crews will be out most of the day fixing the system there, but it should be repaired by end of the day with water service restored.

2) Reminder:  Want to vote this November on who is elected President of the United States and on passage of approximate $36M Taos School Bond?  Deadline for voter registration is Tuesday, October 7.  Register at the Taos County Offices, Bureau of Elections 105 Albright, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

3) Planning & Zoning Commission approves moving ahead with SmartCode change to Land Use Development Code (LUDC), in addition to the SmartCode’s application to the Chamisa Verde neighborhood, owned by the Town of Taos, surrounding the Youth & Family Center.  Final P&Z public hearing on both items, with no other issues scheduled for this meeting, is slated for 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 17th, at Town of Taos Council Chambers.  More details, and a complete overview of last night’s Planning & Zoning’s actions, will be distributed later today.
