The Taos Community PTSA is delighted to host their Third Annual “Night of 1000 Stars” talent show starring the children and teens of Taos County live on the TCA stage April 11 and 12, 2008.

This year’s performers are 74 Taos County youth ages 5 to 19 whose talents include acting, dancing, singing, playing instruments, and gymnastic feats. This exciting and dynamic talent show features six teen bands whose musical talents encompass metal, punk, rock and alternative styles. Singers perform songs with pianists, guitarists and CD accompaniment from Broadway, country and pop genres; dancers engage us with hip hop, country and original styles of movement. There are also young artists performing their own original material!

Children age 5 to 12 years old will perform in the Saturday, April 12 matinee at 1:30 p.m. Teens age 13 to 19 will be featured Friday, April 11 and Saturday, April 12 at 7:30 p.m.

We encourage the entire community to support our young people by coming to all of our shows! All three shows are expected to sell out early. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for teens 13 to 19 and $5 for kids under 12. Tickets are only available to the public at the TCA box office starting one hour before each show.

MOVIES AT THE TCA

“Cassandra’s Dream”
Sunday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
Monday,
and Tuesday, April 14 & 15 at 7 p.m.TCA film

Pretend never to have heard of Woody Allen and just watch Cassandra’s Dream. Taken on its own, it’s a fairly impressive piece, a directorially vigorous, well-acted, tightly constructed movie that effortlessly mixes comedy and drama while dealing with issues of morality and conscience. Along the way, almost by chance, it provides the best showcase yet for Colin Farrell.
Mick LaSalle, The San Francisco Chronicle

Two London brothers are hard up for cash, and both have girls to look out for, too. When rich Uncle Howard comes to town and agrees to help them out, he admits his finances are under investigation, and he asks them to do him a favor and “take care of” an old business relation to keep his trouble under wraps - he says that they’re family, and since he always takes care of them, the least they could do is help him out this once. The film follows their struggle with the immorality of this request and how each brother chooses to deal with it.

Rated: PG-13
Runtime: 108 min.
Country: USA
Language: English
