TCA PRESENTS A PROGRAM FOR YOUTH:
MADCAP VARIETY
2 Special School Performances Thursday, February 28
February 28, 2008 Madcap Variety Company will present two shows for over 500 Taos area students. Due to demand, there will be two school shows instead of one school and one public performance.
Machete juggling, lasso twirling, live music and world-class tap dance. Madcap Variety Company features three veteran vaudeville performers combining their talents into one action-packed evening of hilarity, dexterity, and musical genius. Rhys Thomas, Louie Lichtenstein and Shoehorn have each been professional variety performers for 20 years. Now they weave their talents together into a full-length theater performance: Art, Science, Danger!
There are still a few seats open for students. If you are a home schooler and have students that would like to attend, please call the TCA office (758-2052).

MOVIES AT THE TCA
Honeydripper
Sunday, March 2 at 2 p.m.
Monday and Tuesday, March 3 and 4 at 7 p.m.
“Changing times are a dominant theme in Sayles’ work and most of his films put forth very specific social issues, but in Honeydripper these matters are mostly percolating beneath the surface. The film evocatively charts a time and place where change has been a longtime coming and buoyantly imagines a turning point where, at least musically, anything is possible.”
-Kevin Crust, Los Angeles Times
Honeydripper is charming from beginning to end; the characters, the situations, and the great dialog. Danny Glover in an understated yet powerful performance plays Tyrone, the owner of a small blues club on the outskirts of town. Director John Sayles has always excelled at portraying his characters as real people with real lives. His dialog rings true without clichés born of racial stereotypes. His men sound like real men, his women, authentic. The film takes its time but is never boring; the music throughout and the highly entertaining acting are all the more enjoyable for being leisurely. Sayles is evoking a different time, and does so with wit and precision.
Rated PG-13 for brief violence and some suggestive material.
Runtime: 123 min.
Country: USA, Language: English
