Ice Fishing on Eagle Nest Lake
This Saturday afternoon in February couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for some ice fishing on Eagle Nest Lake. Bright sun, almost no wind, and temperatures in the mid to high 30’s made it a spectacular scene. It didn’t hurt that there were also fish being caught.
I want to thank Ed Sandoval and his family members for their hospitality on their little section of ice. I have never ice fished, but made a promise to myself to start. Think of the benefits. You don’t need an ice chest. The shaved ice from the hole you drill serves as an excellent cold drink container, and right next to your fishing spot! Your catch stays fresh lying on the ice. No boat is needed to get anywhere on the lake you like.
It’s all about beautiful Northern New Mexico scenery, friendly people, and fish for dinner. Check out this video.
