Day Trip to Rio Chama Recreation Area

The Rio Chama Recreation area is an easy day trip from Taos, as it is just below the damn at Abiquiu. The drive is less than two hours. The view from the damn out over the lake is quite spectacular, as it is down over the river gorge. You wind down the road from the top of the damn to river level. In season, there are always families fishing and picnicking along the river bank. Check out the general store while you're in Abiquiu, as it's interesting, with a deli and fine wine selection as well. [geo_mashup_show_on_map_link] |
