Valdez is an area between Taos and Taos Ski Valley. It is valley around a river, as well as foothills and mountains. This is where the Reach earthship community is located. It sits high up a very narrow dirt road, and you can see the sun reflecting off their windows for many miles over Taos.

There are all ages, types and price ranges of homes in Valdez. The ground cover is valley land, foothills, forests and mountains.
