Upper Colonias borders both sides of Hwy 522, and includes the area around the OBL Restaurant on the way to Arroyo Seco. This area has been popular for vacation rental homes due to its proximity to town, but easy access to the ski valley as well.

Sagebrush ground cover, with large views in all directions also contribute to this area’s popularity. Home construction is mostly pueblo and territorial in styling.
