Boards Are In - Purists Out?

Snowboards in TaosThere is a lot of commentary on the decision to let snowboarders onto the slopes at Taos, NM. There is, of course, a huge divergence of opinion. As far as how it may affect Taos real estate, there are some comments out there.

I did get a call from a long-time visitor to my web site last week. It was notable because he has been getting information on properties for a couple of years and this is the first time he’s called me. His comments seemed to indicate that his interest in Taos real estate might be ended. He was not happy about the snowboarding decision at all. The article at the link above indicates that some are saying they will sell and leave.

As someone who doesn’t ski or board, I’m on the fence. However, there is a body of opinion that the decision is going to be good for Taos in the long term. I might wish that they’d chosen a better year for real estate to make this announcement.
